Mother's Day Celebration

This afternoon we had the wonderful opportunity to play our harps for a Mother's Day Tea in South Holland. We had so much fun meeting everyone. We had one little family who came early and stayed late . . . they clapped for every song we played. They were such an encouragement!

Harps in the Capital

Today was a test of faith . . . Mallory removed the ski boot keeping her ankle in place and wrapped her ankle in a tight ace wrap so that she could play the harp. We played in the Howlett Auditorium in Springfield. Very picturesque! It was fun to have many homeschool friends there in the audience. Everything went very well and we had so much fun playing the harp. Afterwards, we did a little sightseeing at Lincoln's tomb. A great day in Springfield!

A Broken Chord Isn't Always a Good Thing

Today was a little discouraging . . . Mallory jumped over a play toy in the backyard and landed on her foot wrong. A trip to the doctor and an x-ray revealed torn ligaments and a bone chip. Not good the day before a harp performance! You need your feet (and ankles) to press the harp pedals for key changes. I Thessalonians encourages us with "that which He calls us to, He is faithful to do it!" This was our prayer to the Lord for the next day . . . we were going to play our harps for Legislative Day in Springfield.
