February 17, 2007 More Snow!

Today was another winter storm warning and guess what . . . we were scheduled to play the harp again at a dinner celebration for 200! We knew that this wouldn't be cancelled. Again . . . Harps to the rescue! Out in the snow and ice we went with our monstrous harp! Carefully and lovingly we transported it to the Orland Chateau. What a great time of playing the harp!

February 13, 2007 A Valentine's Blizzard!

What a day we had! We awoke to a winter storm warning and a thick blanket of blowing snow coming down. This is great if you don't need to leave your house. BUT we had a scheduled Valentine luncheon to play for at The Center in Palos Park. We thought perhaps they would cancel, but the event was as planned. NEVER FEAR . . . HARPS ARE HERE! Through the wintery blizzard conditions we dragged our harp from the car into the lodge with our red velvet dresses and red ballet slippers in tow. We went from Nanuck of the North to Valentines Day harpists in a half hour! Our program was an arrangement of lovely poetry accompanied by harp music. We took turns reading the beautiful selections to the wonderful sounds of harp by the warm, stone fireplace. We even gave the history behind chocolate and gave everyone beautiful little chocolate bouquets we had made prior to the luncheon. What a wonderful way to spend a snowy afternoon!
