It was not a typical birthday celebration unless you are from Mexico. The day started late morning with a High Tea for just the ladies and young girls. Almost 50 ladies attended an outdoor tea to celebrate the special day as we played our harps. Everyone received a special tea cup to take home. This was followed by a gala dinner at a local mexican restaurant where Heavenly Harps played throughout the meal. The celebration was highlighted by Juliana's first dance with her Father to celebrate her coming into womanhood. Heavenly Harps played Canon in D in duet. It was beautiful! Can't wait to play for your wedding, Juliana!

Harps Through History

Heavenly Harps had the unique opportunity to don their Victorian dresses for a presention at Medical Manor. Who ever said that harps and goats don't mix?!

And a Partridge in a Pear Tree!

Heavenly Harps had a grand Christmas Season of music at many events. We started playing the harp at 8:30 a.m. by the fountain in the lobby. We didn't stop playing until 11:30 a.m. -- no breaks! We had many children and parents stop and listen to the harp music as well as ask about how we got started. It was fun. We played several Disney classics for the kids as well as many classics. The theme was "The Cross." We played all the hymns that had in the title "The Cross." A few of them were: "The Old Rugged Cross," "Down at The Cross," "In the Cross of Christ I Glory," "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross," "At the Cross," "Beneath the Cross," and "Near the Cross." We told the stories behind each hymn writer as we played the harp. We were joined by our long-time pastor, Pastor Clem. He actually wrote the program for us. He has a gift for music and great theme presentations. He has written several other programs for us. We so enjoy presenting with him! There were 80 people in attendance from various churches. We made special book marks that had our theme verse on it, Galatians 6:14. They were very pretty with light purple organza ribbon tied at the bottom. We hope that those there were able to catch a greater glimpse of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

February 17, 2007 More Snow!

Today was another winter storm warning and guess what . . . we were scheduled to play the harp again at a dinner celebration for 200! We awoke to a winter storm warning and a thick blanket of blowing snow coming down. This is great if you don't need to leave your house. BUT we had a scheduled Valentine luncheon to play for at The Center in Palos Park. We thought perhaps they would cancel, but the event was as planned. NEVER FEAR . . . HARPS ARE HERE! Through the wintery blizzard conditions we dragged our harp from the car into the lodge with our red velvet dresses and red ballet slippers in tow. We went from Nanuck of the North to Valentines Day harpists in a half hour! Our program was an arrangement of lovely poetry accompanied by harp music. We took turns reading the beautiful selections to the wonderful sounds of harp by the warm, stone fireplace. We even gave the history behind chocolate and gave everyone beautiful little chocolate bouquets we had made prior to the luncheon.
